The illustrations are beautiful. " I think that best summarizes the message I received through my first read. It was wonderful though because the world felt so real and was peopled with such interesting characters. Patrick uses the analogy of a "karmic backpack" that caused me to stop and think, every day since reading the book, about how I interact with life and those in it. I can only say this was not typical J M for me. I have never read anything quite like it. Other than that, the plot was unique and comical reading of her experiences.
